Our Story
Fortified Academy was born from a powerful transformation behind prison walls. One of our founders spent over eight years in federal prison, where he faced a life-changing choice: continue the cycle of harm or rise above it. While incarcerated, he learned the ins and outs of the trucking industry from a fellow inmate—initially with the goal of becoming a CDL driver and starting fresh.
But that vision grew. After reconnecting with his high school sweetheart, the two set out to build something bigger: a movement. Together, they brought on board a passionate team of professionals, united by a shared commitment to help justice-impacted individuals break free from cycles of victimization and incarceration.
With over 30 years of combined experience in mentorship, counseling, and workforce development, the Fortified Academy team knows what it takes to change lives. We’ve seen firsthand the power of peer coaching, accountability, and community—and how these tools can turn past pain into a purpose-driven future.
What started as a path to personal financial stability has evolved into a life-changing program. Our Competency-Based apprenticeships in CDL and construction, offer more than just training—they offer a second chance. Through CDL licensure, construction certification, mentorship, peer coaching, and holistic care, we’ve helped over 100 apprentices reenter society with dignity, purpose, and career-ready skills.
Serving the Denver Metro Area, Fortified Academy is proud to walk alongside those seeking a better future—one individual at a time.
