At Fortified Academy, our mission goes beyond teaching people to drive commercial trucks. We provide a full continuum of care for our students — from classroom instruction to life on the road, and the challenges they face beyond it. Our 360° approach ensures students have the resources, guidance, and support needed to thrive personally and professionally.

Recently, our efforts were bolstered by the generosity of Issues of Life Church Ministries in Aurora. Understanding the unique challenges our CDL drivers face, the church donated over four bags of groceries and Walmart gift cards to directly support our students’ families. These contributions address essential needs, helping our drivers focus on training and building a stable future.

Arthur and Monica Gilbert, co-founders of Fortified Academy, reflected on the impact:
“When a community comes together to support our CDL drivers, it reinforces that success is about more than just earning a license — it’s about building lives. We are deeply grateful for the compassion and support shown by Issues of Life Church Ministries.”
Davon Hawkins, co-founder, added:
“At Fortified Academy, we see every CDL driver as part of a family. The support from Issues of Life Church Ministries helps ensure our drivers have stability and resources so they can focus on their training, their careers, and their futures.”
It’s partnerships like these that make our 360° approach possible. By addressing the full spectrum of needs — training, life skills, and family support — we empower drivers to succeed not just on the road, but in life.
